] (Chem.) A colorless liquid hydrocarbon
resembling oil of turpentine, obtained by dehydrating menthol. It has
an agreeable odor and a cooling taste.

resembling camphor, extracted from oil of peppermint (Mentha);

pertaining to mental culture; serving to improve or strengthen the
mind.
